The SEC
is eating
itself.

Twenty-one league games are in the books, including Missouri's 27–6 win over Texas A&M and South Carolina's 31–13 lead at Florida, held here as final. Nine of those 21 went to the team the media picked lower in July. Only three teams are unbeaten in league play, and two of them meet tonight.

The longest food chain

Follow the arrows and you can walk from the top of the league to the bottom in seven straight conference wins. No team has looped back on a team above it yet, so the chain still points one way.

Who ate whom

Each green pip is a league win taken from another SEC team; each red pip is one given away. Ordered by power ranking.

Where the damage landed

The middle is a blender. Ten of the 16 teams already have at least one league win and one league loss. Mississippi State beat Missouri, Missouri beat Florida, Florida beat Ole Miss, Ole Miss beat LSU.

South Carolina and Texas A&M absorbed the most. Three league losses each by Week 6. A&M was picked fourth in July and has given up wins to Kentucky, LSU and Missouri.

Alabama is the apex predator. Three league wins by an average of 30.7 points, with Kentucky, South Carolina and Mississippi State all on its plate.

Tonight's games

Head to head

Read across a row for that team's result against each opponent. Darker cells mean bigger margins. Blank means the teams do not meet in 2026 or have not played yet.

Power rankings

Built from conference margins adjusted for opponent and venue, yards-per-play margin, league résumé, and non-conference performance. Arrows compare with the July media poll.

How this was built

Scores. All 21 conference results and every non-conference result through Oct 10 high. South Carolina–Florida is held at 31–13 from the end of the third quarter, as requested assumed. Georgia–Alabama, Tennessee–Arkansas, LSU–Kentucky, Texas–Oklahoma and Ole Miss–Vanderbilt had not finished and are shown as pending.

Offense and defense. Total yards and plays from cfbstats.com through Oct 9, plus today's box scores for Missouri–Texas A&M (final) and South Carolina–Florida (through three quarters) high. Points per game include non-conference games, so FCS blowouts inflate them; yards per play is the cleaner read.

Rating model. 40% conference rating (least-squares margins, capped at 28, 2.5-point home edge, lightly regularized), 30% yards-per-play margin, 20% résumé (shrunk league win % plus Power 4 non-con wins), 10% non-conference margin adjusted for opponent level. Each piece is a z-score across the 16 teams. One editorial change: Texas moves up one spot over LSU for its win over Ohio State, the best non-conference result in the league. With one to three league games per team, the conference ratings are moderate confidence at best.
